More than 500 students sing in the Edina High School Choral program, a department comprised of seven curricular choirs meeting during the day, four extra-curricular ensembles providing students an additional singing opportunity outside the school day, and an early-morning, weekly Men’s Chorus open to all male singers in the high school and local community. The curricular choirs include 9th Grade SSA (soprano/alto), 9th Grade TTB (tenor/bass), Hornet Chorale (soprano/alto, grades 10-12), Cougar Chorus (tenor/bass, grades 10-12), Bel Canto (advanced soprano/alto, grades 10-12), Cantemus (advanced tenor/bass, grades 10-12),and Concert Choir (advanced mixed chorus, grades 11-12). A close partnership between middle and high school programs ensures the development of comprehensive, lifelong musical skills for all singers.

The Edina High School Choirs have been hitting the high notes since the opening of the first Edina High School in the fall of 1949. EHS choirs have consistently done well both at state competitions and national festivals garnering many awards.

The choirs are part of a Music Department that received the Minnesota Music Educators Association Exemplary Program Award in 1998, and received national recognition as a "GRAMMY Signature School" in 2005 & 2007 from the GRAMMY Foundation® and the Edina Public Schools Music Program received the NAMM Outstanding Communities for Music Award in 2012 and most recently in 2022!

There are many reasons for this success: supportive administration, good facilities and a fantastic elementary and middle school music program but what really makes the EHS choirs special are the fantastic, devoted students and their incredibly supportive parents.
